Student Transition Program (Inbound & Outbound)
The HCES Transition Program is designed to welcome new students, create a positive environment, ease transitions and support students departing our school.Â
As a part of the Pacific Region's Student Transition Program, ours is comprised of grade level Student Ambassadors that provide:

Personalized new student tours

A lunch buddy

Local trips and/or cultural activities to experience local foods, customs, and familiarize with on base facilities

Resources to assist with social-emotional wellness following a PCS move

New School Scavenger Hunt

New Student Meet and Greet/Tours
Â
Counselors and ambassadors greet new families on their first day at Humphreys Central ES. New students participate in a school tour, meet and greet with new teacher, and one on one time with counselor to answer questions and learn about new and upcoming school events.
Eagle Chat
Â
SA Sponsor and ambassadors at HCES support arriving and departing students through a transition process known as Eagle Chat. It provides the opportunity to meet fellow peers from their grade level, build connections with other HCES faculty, and share their experiences and thoughts throughout their transition.
Welcome and Well Wishes
Â
Counselors and SA Sponsor check-in on incoming and departing students to address their feelings and perceptions for making a smooth transition. Hail and Farwell Luncheons: Arriving and departing students gather during lunch to share advice and well wishes.
When we meet:
- New Student Tours: First day of school for all new students.
- Eagle Chat: Weekly on Fridays during grade level lunches.
Activity Schedule:
- Hail/Farewell: First Friday of the Month during grade level lunches.
