CAMP HUMPHREYS, SOUTH KOREA – For the first time, third and fourth-grade students at Humphreys Central Elementary School took the stage to perform the musical Cinderella… If the Shoe Fits! Directed by Mrs. Leia Webb and Mrs. Angela Dent, the production highlighted the dedication, creativity, and talent of the young performers who brought this classic fairy tale to life with a fun twist.

Humphreys Central embraced the opportunity to introduce the performing arts at an early age. Under the guidance of Mrs. Leia Webb, a fourth-grade teacher with a degree in drama, the students learned theater etiquette, vocabulary, and stage presence. Mrs. Webb also choreographed the show, helping students move with purpose and confidence.

A collaboration with Humphreys High School drama students added an extra layer to the production. The high school students attended the dress rehearsal, offering helpful feedback and encouragement, which boosted the young cast’s confidence and professionalism.

Rehearsing three days a week, the students dedicated themselves to perfecting their roles. Their hard work paid off with a performance that wowed the audience, proving that even young actors can put on a memorable show.

This experience was more than just the performance – it also taught teamwork, resilience, and self-expression. Through the musical, students gained confidence, improved public speaking skills, and learned to perform in front of an audience – valuable skills that will serve them in many areas of life.

Humphreys Central Elementary School’s Cinderella… If the Shoe Fits! was more than just a musical, it was a groundbreaking moment for young performers, proving that elementary students can rise to the challenge of a full-scale production. With passion, perseverance, and a touch of stage magic, these students have set a new standard for what’s possible in elementary school theater.
