Spelling Club

The club will consist of thirty students in grades 3-5 who are interested in participating. Each student who would like to participate must commit to practicing the word list to prepare for the upcoming spelling bee and return a permission slip/commitment letter signed by the parent and student. We will offer the Spelling Club to our super spellers to practice their word and spelling skills. Transportation is the responsibility of the parent. Come to as many club meetings as possible to help you prepare for the School Bee. The HCES School Spelling Bee will be held in April 2016. A list of spelling words will be distributed to students once the permission slip is signed and returned. The deadline for returning the permission slip is Friday, December 18. After this date, no other students can enlist in the School Spelling Bee. All students are expected to come to the club with their spelling words and a positive attitude. In order to make this a great experience for all who attend, disruptive behaviors will not be allowed. If a student is disruptive, the following procedure will occur: ?First time –Parents/Guardians will receive a warning letter. ?Second time –Parents/Guardians will receive a 2nd letter dismissing their child.
